Computation, Genomics, Language,
Absurdism, Minimalism

I am a senior research fellow and lecturer in the Applied Computational Genomics Team, ACGT at the Institute of Applied Simulation, IAS at Zurich University of Applied Sciences, ZHAW.

In a collaborativ effort lead by the IAS, we are currently building up a new Master's specialisation in Applied Computational Life Sciences. I am co-heading the program.

My scientific work involves various aspects —algorithmic, computational, statistical, modelling— of the pipeline from molecular sequences to phylogenies, with an emphasis on model/method assessment using real biological data, and on applications for biotechnology and biomedical research. I take a great interest in linguistics and art.
